I haven't posted anything here for a very very very long time

And I haven't been exactly "productive" for the past month...
Okay. I did draw a couple of things and they ended up in the trash.

But anyway.

This week, I tested out coloring on colored Canson paper.
(The things you do when you run out of sketches....)

So, here. :)

(Oh hey, look. Now I finally know what do they use white colored pencils for!)

Look it's Rapunzel!

This is obviously Rapunzel aaaaaaaaaand ..... yeah.
I just really want to watch Tangled.
This one took two hours.

I don't like the hair either.

Original:
I was too lazy to draw another eye because it was 9 in the morning and I was pulling an all-nighter.

Have a lovely week. :)

Say Hi to officially-future-art-student-Mirna!

YES! I got accepted! Which is all sorts of awesome. I can't believe this four year old dream that's been stressing me out like a bitch all the time and I've worked so hard for came true. Besides, I'm going to be doing things I love for the next five years! I've heard it's going to be tough and stressful, but I vowed to myself I won't fall to it, I'll just keep up a good challenge, and focus on myself and work, and not let jealousy or weakness get to me.

Anyway.

I'm obsessed with Florence + The Machine's song Drumming Song. I think having five versions of the song on my iTunes certifies me as an official addict. So I decided to try myself with water-color and... well....

I really like this one. Except that it resembles someone.... which is creepy.

And finally,

I am fully aware how flawed they might be, but in my defence, each means something to me. :)

That day Mirna bought new markers....

I don't think I need to tell you about what has been going on in Egypt. But the curfew has been the reason I couldn't ink my sketches lately. Last Saturday, I went stationary shopping with my family. Needless to say, shopping for art supplies is definitely my favorite type of shopping. I think I should mention that I wasted a fortune, but it was worth it.

I think I should mention this here: I'm going to my university's Art aptitude exam + portfolio submission + interview THIS Thursday. Yes, I'm thrilled. And yes, my feet and hands are already cold.

Anyway, let's get to the illustrations:

^ This one's my top favorite.
9:00 am.
This one's a little way too emo... I'm really sorry about that, but I wasn't feeling well.

I just remembered that I didn't post a sample of the photography I'm submitting in my portfolio.
So here goes:

Have a nice week!

Hi hey hello! :)

I'm sorry I've been MIA for a while, but I'm sure y'all know what's happening in Egypt + the internet cut off + me going on vacation before everything started. But today I'll present you three creations I'm really really proud of because they turned out to be exactly what I had in mind.
Oh, two things! I hope you like them as much as I do, and don't forget to click the pictures to view much larger versions!

1- "Masr"
(Arabic for Egypt)

: Pencils of different variations on paper + digital coloring.

2- "Sara".
: Pencils then watercolor on paper.

3- "Martin - the failure fish"
:Pencil + watercolor + photoshop for the typography. :)
(P.S. this is one of my favorite quotes ever)

That's it. :)
I really hope they appealed to you or touched in you in one way or another.
Have an awesome week!

Comments are nice u kno.
